The biltong that this place makes is the best. It's a cut above the other brands of biltong I've tried.
When I have people try it for the first time their first reaction before trying is "what is biltong". My response is this is the A5 wagyu of 'beef jerky'. Needless to say people are very impressed with it.
I've been ordering from Biltong Depot for a little over a year now and it has always been perfect. Tender, juicy, and full of flavor. I cannot recommend this enough!

i always order biltong with fat this package does not signify it. I think my recent order was regular not with fat

Having consumed two thirds of the droewors, I find it OK. Nothing special. A little fatty. Taste is underwhelming. I would not order again.

My niece Allison was born in South Africa but moved to the US with her family at age 11. That was where she fell in love with Biltong and on a trip to visit her and my sister who spent many years working in South Africa before coming back to the states and ending up in Florida. Allison found out that Biltong is made here and she orders it all the time. She offered me some when I went for a visit and now I love it, too.

I live in South Africa with access to great biltong but cannot import into the states per customs regulations. It's been a while since I have purchased from Biltong Depot while stateside and recently ordered two slabs original flavor. The flavor was decent but the slabs were covered in an oil as if it was being used as an alternative preservative. I ordered lean slabs so it wasn't fatty oil. This was a first for me in terms of packaged biltong.

We want to reassure you that we only use the listed ingredients and no oils or any other preservation method. The oil you notice is from the meat itself. When the slabs are vacuum packed, a small amount of oil may be squeezed out, even from lean slabs, due to the presence of some marbled fat. We value your feedback and want to assure you that we do not add any oils. Thank you for your support!
