HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
SJ Botha, a native South African, and his wife Virginia founded Biltong Depot. What started in 2014 as a local butcher shop in Franklin, Tennessee quickly became a passion project to share the bold, flavorful, and nutritious meat snacks SJ grew up with in South Africa.

2020
BECOMING BILTONG DEPOT
In 2020 the Bothas set out to bring authentic Biltong to the U.S. market. They expanded into a 20,000 square foot facility and began shipping nationally, making it easier than ever for customers across the country to enjoy a better kind of meat snack.

2021
Growth & Recognition
Knowing that biltong and drywors were new products for most Americans, Biltong Depot set its sights on creating an amazing product lineup that meat lovers couldn't resist. Naturally air-dried, sugar free, and zero junk. Our steak-on-the-go is the perfect meat snack. We aren't the only ones who think that, Jack Links has endorsed Biltong Depot as an industry leader in the air-dried meat snack category.

Looking Ahead
As the experts on creating air-dried meat snacks at Biltong Depot, we really love going the extra mile for our customers. We are constantly creating. This includes meaningful co-branded partner products, creating content that inspires, and offering tools for those looking to make their own air-dried meats. We seek to not only sell our products, but to educate as well. We love seeing a piece of our heritage brought into homes all across America.
